In this opportunity we are looking for an experienced UI Rails developer to work with one of our American clients and help them drive new product and feature development. We're seeking someone who can resolve problems swiftly, is a team player, is self-driven, and fluent in English. Our client is a reporting and analytics product suite. They have designed a proprietary platform specifically for direct-to-consumer (D2C) e-commerce companies that makes business-critical data accessible and usable for strategic decision-making. They are creating the tools and providing the insights their clients need to succeed, working as integrated partners in driving their growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform research, design, development, and maintenance of web applications written in Ruby, Rails
  • Design and development of the Web UI application within the Rails framework
  • Work with stakeholders to provide estimates for development effort
  • Actively participate in project design and planning meetings
  • Solve business-critical problems using various tools (debugging, performance/benchmark testing, etc.), and build new tools (or on top of existing tools) when the need arises
  • Help suggest good usability patterns so the UI is responsive, query issues w/ ActiveRecord objects, pagination, async loading

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of working experience with Ruby/Rails
  • Strong working knowledge/experience with Web app UI development (HTML, CSS, SASS, ERB, Bootstrap, JavaScript)
  • Ability to keep things simple – complexity increases bugs and makes code harder to test and understand
  • Flexibility applying TDD – understanding when it's necessary is key
  • Excellent communication
  • Passion for learning new things
