In this opportunity, we are looking for a UI/UX Designer to work with one of our American clients and help them drive new products and project development. Our client is a nonprofit organization working in different areas such as climate change, energy, food, forests, water, sustainable cities, and the ocean. The foundation of their work is delivering high-quality research, data, maps, and analysis to solve the world’s environmental and international development challenges and improve people’s lives.

Responsibilities
User Experience/ User Interface Design (most of the responsibilities)
- Gather and evaluate user and technology requirements in collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Engagement teams for expanded reporting feature
- Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps
- Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, and dropdowns
- Build page navigation buttons and search fields
- Develop UI mockups, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that clearly illustrate how sites function and look, and how they will integrate with the existing GFW Pro UI
- Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders, iterate on presented designs based on team feedback
- Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
- Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback, product development roadmap, and industry best practices
- Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors, and images
Product Development and Operational Support (other responsibilities)
- Conduct user interviews and usability tests, summarize responses, and share with a matrixed team
- Understand user journey to identify pain points and propose design solutions
- Participate in user acceptance testing for all product releases and ongoing platform maintenance
- Respond to user support requests and work with the Engagement team to onboard new GFW Pro accounts
- If interested, participate in data modeling for usage analytics to inform product development
- Support on other product development tasks as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant full-time experience required
- Knowledge of Adobe range of products including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and Dreamweaver
- 2 years of experience with HTML5 & CSS3
- 2 years of experience as a UI-UX Designer or similar role UI design portfolio
- Artistic eye for design
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- ArcGIS, ESRI, Mapbox, Google Earth Engine experience in any of these skills is preferred.
